25/05/2025 –Hills Offroad RC Club Meeting Race Report

Sunday 25th May club meeting was unscheduled, and we took the opportunity with clear skies to make up for those meetings that have been cancelled recently due to rain with 81 entries attending.
After the recent weather the track was low grip after the track work completed the day prior to ensure we were able to run.
Novice/Run What You Brung
With only 8 entries in total the Novice and RWYB classes were combined to ensure all entrants got a run on the day.
William Victorsen secured top qualifier in round 2 of qualifying. Fabian Diaz was second with his round 1 qualifying time. Rounding out the top three was Julian Diaz with his round 1 qualifying performance.
With only on final being run, William Victorsen took the win, with Fabian Diaz coming in second and Julian Diaz rounding out the podium in third.

2wd Stock
With 27 drivers making this the largest class of the event, drivers of various skill levels battled it out in the slippery conditions.
Glen Welch qualified first with his round 1 qualifying time. Scott Hill was second on the grid setting his time also in round 1. Nathaniel White was third with his 1st round time.
Scott Hill took the win for the day with 2nd, 1st & 1st places across the finals. Anthony Gullotta continued his progress with his transition to offroad, taking second overall with 4th, 2nd & 2nd places. Nathaniel White was third with 1st, 5th & 8th place finishes.

With 17 entries running for the day, a mix of experience, juniors and everything in between made this a class to watch each round.
Matthew Couper took top spot with a round 1 time in qualifying. Lachlan Donnelly was second setting his time also in round 1. Jarod Ment was third with his time also set in round 1.
The finals were close with mixed results across the field as all kept searching for grip in the conditions. Matthew Couper took the win with 2nd, 1st & 2nd places. Lachlan Donnelly took second place with 1st, 2nd & 3rd places. Jarod Ment was third with 3rd, 4th & 1st place finishes.

With 14 entries running on the day, it would be interesting to see whom mastered the conditions in every run.
Nathaniel White was the top qualifier with his round 2 run. Scott Hill was second with hs round 2 time. Glenn Welch was third with his time set in round 1.
Nathaniel White took advantage of his TQ result and went on to win the day with 1st, 1st and 3rd places in the finals. Scott Hill was second with 3rd, 2nd & 1st place finishes. Riley Lander-West came in third with the junior racer placing 4th, 4th & 2nd across the three finals.

15 entries put on a show each run with the fastest beast at the event being controlled by some racers of various skill.
Ari Bakla took out the top qualifying spot in round 1. Lachlan Donnelly was second with his round 1 time. Matthew Couper set his third place on the grid time in round 2 of qualifying.
Ari Bakla was the most consistent runner in the otherwise mixed results across the finals to take the win for the day with 2nd, 2nd & 1st place finishes. Lachlan Donnelly took second for the day with 3rd, 1st & 3rd places. Matthew Couper was third for the day with 1st, 3rd & 4th places across the finals.

Our next race day is scheduled for Sunday 2nd June being the third round of the 2025 Hills Club Championship. We look forward to having everyone attend and continue to battle it out for the overall championship.
