RC Discharger wasn't born in a boardroom; it was born at the racetrack. Founded by passionate racer Rodolphe Bedu, their company exists for a single reason: to create the innovative, high-performance tools they wanted for themselves.

The story started in 2017. At the time, RC racers had limited options for discharging batteries. The single solution was a simple resistor bank—a device that was often messy, cumbersome, and potentially unsafe. A simple suggestion from a fellow racer at the local track sparked an idea: “You should build something better.”

The first product was a direct answer to the problem: a resistor bank housed in a clean, protective enclosure. The safety provided by the enclosure enabled an innovative “all-in-one” design, with everything attached together in a single unit. This saved valuable space on a crowded pit mat, offering an immediate improvement in safety, convenience, and efficiency.

The true breakthrough, however, came from hands-on experience. After Rodolphe purchased an iCharger 406DUO in 2017, he began using it with his own “all-in-one” resistor bank. The inefficiency immediately became clear, sparking a critical question: “Why waste an entire charging output just to connect a resistor bank?”

This realisation sparked the invention that defines RC Discharger today: a dedicated, regenerative discharger. This new device was engineered to work with the charger, not occupy one of its valuable channels. It created a far more elegant, efficient, and powerful workflow that allows for dual cycling. The revolution was born.

For this first regenerative discharger, it was essential to carry over the ‘all-in-one’ design that racers loved. A key personal goal for Rodolphe was to fit all of this new technology into an enclosure the exact same size as the original discharge bank. It was a difficult challenge, but it was a success.

What started as a personal project quickly grew through word-of-mouth. As more and more racers requested a unit for themselves, RC Discharger was officially founded in 2018 to meet the organic demand from the community.

After a small break and fueled by incredible support, RC Discharger was relaunched. They returned with their second-generation model—a completely redesigned unit that is smaller, more powerful, and more reliable than ever before.
