The Hills Shire Council Continue to Support Hills Offroad RC Club and the World Championships

Hills Off Road RC would like to thank Hills Shire Council for continuing support of the 2025 IFMAR 1/10 EP OFFROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.

The Hills Shire has a proud reputation as the ‘Garden Shire’ mainly due to the bushland, reserves and well-maintained gardens of its residential areas. It is one of the larger Local Government areas in Sydney and covers 386 square kilometres, stretching from the M2 in the south to Wisemans Ferry in the north. Two thirds of the Shire is rural land used for farming and other agricultural industries. The Shire adjoins the Local Government areas of Hawkesbury, Blacktown, Parramatta and Hornsby.

In 1851, the population of Baulkham Hills Shire was 436 and there were 87 houses. As late as 1956, the population had only grown to 15,000 and it was not until the 1960s that urban development increased in the Shire. Houses were built in Carlingford and Baulkham Hills, followed by development in Castle Hill during the 1970s and Glenhaven in the early 1980s. Since the late 1990s, Kellyville and Rouse Hill have been the growth areas for residential housing in the Shire. The areas of Box Hill, The Hills of Carmel and Gables are the latest to be developed. Today, The Hills Shire is made up of 27 suburbs and has a population of more than 183,791 residents, with the majority of residents living in the southern part of the Shire. By 2036, the population is projected to reach 290,900.

The Hills Shire Council has been a long-time supporter of Hills Offroad RC and have been instrumental in giving us the facility we have today. This includes facilitating construction of the current drivers stand/race control, lighting, power upgrades, concreted paths and track fencing as examples of their commitment to giving us a professionally presented venue to host such an event as the Team Cayote 2025 IFMAR 1/10 EP Offroad World Championships.
