06/07/2025 – Round 4 of 2025 Hills Offroad RC Club Championship Race Report

Sunday 6th July club meeting was Round 4 of the 2025 Hills Offroad RC Club Championship. With 69 entries attending for racing with the track conditions being slippery with the wet weather in the lead up to the event.

 


Novice/Rung What You Brung

11 entries rolled up for some action with Rob Harding taking the TQ after qualifying.

Leon Phillips went on to take the win on the day with 2nd, 7th & 1st place finishes. Marcus Sewter finished second with 7th, 2nd & 2nd places. Daniel Diaz finished in third place with 8th, 1st & 6th places in the finals.

2wd Stock

With the largest field for the event, 24 drivers were shown the way with Hugo Tsang taking TQ for the finals.

The finals were a two horse affair with some very close racing. Hugo Tsang went on to take the win on the day with 2nd, 1st & 1st place finishes and also the Grand Slam (Win, TQ & Fastest Lap). Scott Hill finished second with 1st, 2nd & 2nd places. Anthony Gullotta put together a third place with 3rd, 4th & 3rd places in the finals.


2wd Stock Race Results

3rd – Anthony Gullotta

4th – Logan Rintoul

5th – Joseph Valdivia

2wd Modified

With 10 very keen entries, it was Lachlan Donnelly laying down TQ runs to start the finals ahead of the rest.

Lachlan Donnelly went on to take the Grand Slam (Win, TQ & Fastest Lap), with three wins across the finals. Lachlan Munday making the trip up from Victoria for the weekend took second place with 2nd, 2nd & 2nd places. With his father and one of the legends of Australian racing, Ray Munday came in third with 3rd, 4th & 3rd places across the finals.

2nd – Lachlan Munday

3rd – Ray Munday

4th – Samuel Muffett

5th – Lachlan Williams

4wd Stock

With 17 entries running on the day, Scott Hill put together a TQ run for the best starting place of the stock runners.

Again some great racing was seen in this class, which saw Hugo Tsang take the win overall in the finals with 1st, 4th & 1st place finishes. Logan Rintoul came in second with 9th, 1st & 3rd place finishes. Scott Hill was third with 2nd, 2nd & 2nd places.


4wd Stock Race Results

1st – Hugo Tsang

3rd – Scott Hill

4th – Michael Martinez

5th – Chris Milton

Fastest Lap of the Day – Scott Hill – 28.809 seconds (A3 Final)


 

4wd Modified

With 7 entries came to play and get some laps ahead of the next event with Lachlan Donnelly taking the TQ spot after qualifying.

The finals were a closer battle for all places than the results show with Lachlan Donnelly taking his second Grand Slam for the event (Win, TQ & Fastest Lap), with 1st,1st & 1st places across the finals. Lachlan Donnelly took second with 2nd, 2nd & 2nd places. Ray Munday again backed up his 2wd result with third, finishing 3rd, 3rd & 5th places.


4wd Modified Race Results

3rd – Ray Munday

4th – Samuel Muffett

5th – Lachlan Williams

It was another great and competitive round of the 2025 Club Championship and the current leaders in the point score after round 4 for each class are:

There is still time to join the club to be a part of future events in the 2025 Club Championship and for your chance to win one of two car kits at the end of 2025. Every time you enter a club meeting as a member of the club, you have one entry in the draw to win.


Our next round of the club Championship is scheduled for Sunday 3rd August 2025, to continue our drive towards what will be the biggest year for Hills Offroad RC with the IFMAR World Championships. Our next race day is the King of the Hills on 11th to 13th July 2025.
