Can The King be a Foreigner?

With just over a month until the return of the King of the Hills event, we have five internationals already committed to making the trip down under to continue preparations for the 2025 IFMAR 1/10 EP OFFROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.

XRAY driver Dakotah Phend from the United States, is making his first trip to Sydney Australia to start his preparation for a run at the World Championships. The Phenom started his RC racing career at age 7, the now 27 year old has had a big year already which includes a change of team, winning his 41st US National Titles (yes you read that right, his 41st), and becoming a first-time father back in April. Can he top off his already stella year with a World Title!

Former world champion David Ronnefalk from Sweden, is making his first trip to Australia and the Hills Offroad facility after being unable to make the Warm-up event he originally planned on attending. David’s experience of 8 x European and 28 x National Championships will be an asset to the XRAY team in getting further data and assist in making them a force to be reckoned with.

Travelling for his third trip to Australia from the United States, is XRAY's Chase Lemieux, returning to the track he had previous success on that saw him podium at both the 2024 Australian Championships and Worlds Warm-up events. Chase has established himself as a fast-paced and consistent racer, earning a reputation as one of the top 10th scale offroad competitors no matter where he visits. Chase is also close to becoming an honorary Australian with what will be the most visits of all the internationals to Hills Offroad RC over the last 9 months. We look forward to his return as it is always a lot of fun seeing him in Sydney.

Schumacher R/C Racing driver Tom Rinderknecht from the United States, will be making his second visit to Sydney Australia. Tom is another local favourite who is keen to show all that he has found some speed after testing for the week post the Worlds Warmup. Tom along with the entire team made some serious progress with their setups and learning the nuisances of the changing surface at the venue. Tom has a great list of racing achievements already and is looking to add to these come time for the World Championships to be run.

Team Associated driver and design engineer Billy Hayden from the United States, is making his first trip down under to get a feel for the surface and no doubt test some new parts/ideas with the local team. Billy a likeable racer back home and being part of the engineering team responsible for the design of the current platforms being raced, will no doubt be influential in the teams direction in setup and car specifics come time to lay down the laps at the World Championships later this year.

So will one of the internationals be THE KING? Time to find out and get your entry in to either witness the crowning of new Hills Off Road RC Australia royalty, or enter now to defend the crown and become King of the Hills yourself!
