***Important Announcement on Facility Rules***
The track direction has been reversed back to a clockwise direction with the latest track works completed.
Unfortunately we had an incident today (and many other near misses also), where a young user of the track proceeded to drive the wrong direction down the straight despite 6 other cars being on-track showing the new direction of travel. An experienced racer (that couldn’t see him prior and nor did he have time to react), at full speed hit the car writing off his race vehicle with substantial chassis body, electronics and motor damage the result. Other racers will know the kind of investment in both money and time spent on your race vehicles.
All users and parents of children, it is important to follow the below simple rules to ensure not only your own vehicle, but those of others is not at risk.
1. Track direction clockwise only. At no time are you to travel in the opposite direction. This includes using reverse (if it is enabled in your vehicle), if there are other users on-track at any time.
2. Do not stop on the circuit at any time for any reason. If you must stop, pull off to the side on to a grassed area or enter pit lane, to ensure your vehicle is off the racing surface and less chance of being hit.
3. If crashed and need to enter the track to recover your vehicle, ensure to look both ways before crossing any lanes of traffic to ensure you don’t walk in front of another vehicle. Use the grass verges at all times where possible to keep off the racing surface. These vehicles can be travelling very fast and have the potential to break bones and cause major injuries if making contact with a person.
These simple rules being followed will ensure all users of the facility will get maximum enjoyment and less chance of breaking their vehicle or themselves. You must remember the drivers of these vehicles are not sitting in them so have limited field of view ahead of where they are on-track, especially when travelling down the straight.
Signage will be placed at the facility soon outlining these and a few other rules of etiquette and respect expected for both users and the facility itself.
Note, no matter who you are, it is critical to abide by these simple rules. We have of late seen even experienced racers fail to follow this and cause serious accidents also.
We aim for all to enjoy the facility and their time using it and thank you for your cooperation.
